Club Piou PiouBeginner, Ages 4 to 5 

At Club Piou Piou, your 4 year-old child can discover the joy of gliding on snow in a fun and engaging environment!

The Piou Piou Club at esf Praz-de-Lys features a safe, child-friendly area with playful figurines, games, and a dedicated ski lift just for young skiers in esf lessons.
Course bookings for the 2024-25 season are now open. Telephone answering service from 17 October 2024.

In a fun 2.5-hour ski lesson, children will learn in a safe, playful environment designed to help them progress naturally.

They’ll enjoy a snack break and can warm up in a cosy chalet on colder days.

At the end of the week, they’ll receive a Piou Piou medal to celebrate their progress, getting them ready to move up to the Ourson level next year!

Does my child need a ski pass?
A child in Club Piou-Piou does not need a ski pass.

However, if you'd like to go on the slopes with your child, they will need a ski pass:
  • Free for children under 5, available from the lift desks upon presentation of proof of age.
  • Paid children’s ski pass required from 5 years and upwards.
What equipment does my child need?
  • Boots: ensure they’re sized to fit with just one pair of socks.
  • Skis: tips should come up to chin level — leave adjustments to the professionals.
  • No poles needed at Club Piou-Piou.
  • Helmets are essential.
How should I dress my child?
To ensure your child gets the most out of the day, it’s important to equip them properly:
  • Choose a jacket, dungarees or overalls that are warm, comfortable, and waterproof.
  • Mittens are preferable to finger gloves as they provide better insulation, keeping little hands warm and cosy.
  • Opt for a ski mask or sunglasses with a safety cord to prevent loss.
  • UV protection of at least factor 3 is essential.
Is it possible to watch the sessions?
It’s totally understandable to want to keep an eye on your child from the slopes, but they’ll likely spot you sooner than you think! This can sometimes distract them, lead to tears, or even make them lose interest in skiing and bonding with their new friends.
